The Boston Bruins are determined to get this over with.

Leading its Round 2 series against the Montreal Canadiens by a 3-2 count with Game 6 set for Tuesday night at the Bell Centre, the Bruins have no desire to let this go on any longer.

Ideally, they’d like to get the win and head back to Beantown to get some rest before they play either the New York Rangers or Pittsburgh Penguins in the Eastern Conference final later this week.

Coach Claude Julien said the Bruins are taking nothing for granted.

“There’s one team that’s desperate and rightfully so,” Julien said. “There’s a team on the other side that has to be just as desperate because you don’t want a Game 7.

“That’s my approach. You’ve got to play and you’ve got to play your best game to close out any series.”

It doesn’t appear the Bruins will be making any changes.

Julien jumbled all his lime combinations during the morning skate just to lighten the mood a little.

“They are desperate and that’s how we have to play,” Boston defenceman Dougie Hamilton said. “We have to treat this like Game 7, a must-win and have that mindset that we have another game if we need it.

“We have to have that focus. Hopefully we can get a good start, get the first goal and play with that lead.”

Montreal coach Michel Therrien told reporters at the club’s practice facility in Brossard, Que., the Habs aren’t just ready to roll over.

“I see it rather as a good challenge. We all understand the importance of tonight’s game. The fact that we’re playing Game 6 at home against one of the league’s powerhouse teams presents an interesting challenge for this group,” Therrien said.
