BOSTON - The Bruins have been here before.

They know the difficult task they are facing.

They have learned from past experience – sometimes the hard way – and so with the Pittsburgh Penguins sitting on the verge of elimination Game 4 Friday night at TD Garden the Bruins want to ensure they shut the door.

After scoring a 2-1 victory with Patrice Bergeron’s winner in double-overtime in the wee hours of Thursday morning, the Bruins understand opportunity knocks and they don’t want to let the Penguins off the mat with a 3-0 series lead in the NHL Eastern Conference final.

“We’ve been through it with the Rangers, we were up 3-0 and we know how hard that last game was to win,” Bruins coach Claude Julien said Thursday. “That has to continue to be our belief, and the one thing we do know is we’ve got to play a better game than we did (Wednesday) night.
