Johnny Boychuk said a little prayer.

The Boston Bruins defenceman served up what he called “a pizza,” to New York Rangers forward Carl Hagelin, a pass right onto Hagelin’s stick in the Bruins zone, yet another turnover in an uneven period Sunday for the Bruins.

Boychuk offered up his plea to Bruins goaltender Tuukka Rask.

“C’mon, Tuukka,” said Boychuk.

Rask responded, stopping Hagelin’s shot and keeping alive the Boston’s 3-2 lead at the time in what would turn out to be a 5-2 win for a 2-0 lead in the NHL Eastern Conference semifinal.

“That second period, Tuukka made some big saves for us. They outplayed us,” said Bruins forward Chris Kelly.
