BOSTON - Torey Krug watched the Boston Bruins’ incredible comeback against the Toronto Maple Leafs in Game 7 from the comfort of his couch Monday night.

Tuesday, the defenceman was about to get on the bus with the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League to travel to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to continue their playoff series when he got the call from the B’s to fill in on their injury-ravaged blueline.

Thursday, he scored his first Stanley Cup playoff goal to tie Game 1 of the NHL Eastern Conference semifinal against the New York Rangers, a game the Bruins would go on to win in overtime.

“It’s kind of crazy. It’s one of those things you dream about as a kid,” said the 22-year-old native of Livonia, Mich. “I came up here preparing as though I was going to play. I was lucky enough to get in the lineup and I helped the team win. That was my goal, so I’m pretty happy.”
