Marchand's critics 'mean nothing'

WILMINGTON, MASS. - For those who accuse him of being a diver, Brad Marchand feels you should all go jump in the lake.
Marchand was ripped during the television broadcast of Sunday's 4-3 Boston Bruins victory over the Washington Capitals when he lay in a heap on the ice after making contact with an opposing player in the neutral zone. While Marchand was down and out, the Caps converted their odd-man rush into a goal by Jason Chimera.
To add insult to injury, Marchand was mocked on the Verizon Center scoreboard, which ran a video of a man diving from the high platform into a pool.
On Tuesday, Marchand responded to the claims that he had been acting.
"For them to judge what knocks you down, they don't know your balance or whatnot on the play," Marchand said of his critics. "They're sitting at home watching on TV.
"I don't really care what they say. They have no impact on my game, my life. They mean nothing."
