VORHEES, N.J. — Might another team’s pain be the opposition’s gain?

With reasons for optimism at a premium, the Flyers could at least benefit from the injury to Bruins forward David Krejci who had surgery to repair a dislocated wrist on Thursday and is gone for the remainder of the series.

Krejci, one of the Bruins’ top-six forwards, was nailed by Flyers captain Mike Richards with a clean open-ice hit early in Game 3. He joins fellow Bruins forward Marco Sturm on the sidelines as Boston’s successful playoff run hasn’t come without a price.

Boston coach Claude Julien wasn’t about to announce a replacement for Krejci for Friday’s potential series clincher at the Wachovia Center.

“We’ve got a lot of guys that have been around our team now for a while,” Julien said. “I’ve still got a whole day to sort things out here and we’ve got a lot of guys capable of jumping in and doing the job.”
