Don Cherry says he's not budging on his 'old school' dressing room opinion

Donald S. Cherry doesn’t think it’s right for naked athletes to be disrespectful around women in dressing rooms and he doesn’t care what names he’s called for expressing it.

“It was misinterpreted but I am a redneck,” he declared in an exclusive interview. “I heard some people saying I was ‘old school.’ What is wrong with being old school?”

He said it once on Coach’s Corner and now he has said it twice. The former NHL Coach of the Year feels there should be separate interview rooms for all media to ensure there are no risks or double standards.

It seems a lot of people agree with him.

More people than the progressive media crowd would care to admit, acknowledge or comprehend.

On Wednesday’s Coach’s Corner during the Leafs-Bruins game he mentioned how I had noted several polls conducted — including one at Newstalk 1010 where I do The Late Shift on Tuesday nights — that showed overwhelming support for Don.

He was right.
