In the parity-driven NHL, any team qualifying for the postseason has a chance at reaching the Stanley Cup final.

This year's participants are living proof.

The upstart New Jersey Devils are looking for their first Stanley Cup in nine years as they hosted the opening game of the best-of-seven final Wednesday night against the Los Angeles Kings.

The Kings haven't been to the final since 1993 and are looking for their first championship in franchise history.

QMI Agency's Ian Busby and Bruce Garrioch hosted a live chat during Game 1 of the Stanley Cup final.

Here's what they had to say.

After benching Brad Richards should the New York Rangers eventually just buy him out?
  Yes.
  Might be a good idea.
  No.
  Not sure.
