Power play a key for Bruins, Bolts

The one big statistical discrepancy between the Boston Bruins and Tampa Bay Lightning is their special-teams play. The more these teams play at even strength, the bigger advantage it would appear to be for the Bruins. They lead the post-season in even-strength scoring with 31 goals in 11 games, compared with 23 for the Lightning.

The Lightning leads the playoffs in power-play goals with 12.

The Bruins opened the playoffs going 0-for-30 on the power play before warming up a bit in the latter stages of Round 2 against the Philadelphia Flyers with a couple of goals with the man advantage.

The key for the Bruins will be to stay out of the penalty box and keep the lines rolling.

The more even-strength play the better for the Bruins, I think, because the Lightning has been doing such a great job on the power play.

Prediction: Bruins in 7.
