The Canucks had the early jump, and went on the powerplay, but David Legward netted his second shorthanded tally of the series to give the Predators a 1-0 lead.

However, the hosts showed they truly want to show the killer instinct they nearly took too long to find in the first round.

Shortly after his team’s powerplay ended, Raffi Torres netted his first playoff goal when he finished off a perfect pass from Jannik Hansen.

From there, the Canucks started to take over the, and Ryan Kesler made it 2-1 when he converted an outstanding pass from Mason Raymond.

Raymond neatly eluded Ryan Suter before sending the puck to the front of the net, and Kesler redirected it while holding off Shea Weber’s check to net his fourth goal in the last three games.

Shots on goal in the first period were 12-5 for the hosts.
