Tough night for St. Louis

PITTSBURGH -- What would you rather do: Lose your playoff opener or have a root canal?

Don't bother asking Lightning veteran Marty St. Louis, who was understandably a little grumpy Thursday after having to go through both the night before.

After getting clipped by the stick of Penguins defenceman Zbynek Michalek in Wednesday's series opener, St. Louis had root canal done on two of his front teeth. He was also nursing a cut lip.

"Three broken teeth and a busted lip ... it's never fun to go to the dentist, game day or non-game day," St. Louis said of the incident in which no penalty was assessed. "But it's hockey. It was definitely my latest dentist appointment.

"I'm just happy the stick wasn't higher, it might have concussed me. I'll take the teeth instead of the concussion."
