SERIES TIED 1-1

COMING IN

After Calgary won the series opener Wednesday night 3-2, the Sharks drew even with a 2-0 victory Thursday in San Jose. The series shifts sites for games tonight and Tuesday before returning to Silicon Valley.

WHO'S HOT

FLAMES -- G Miikka Kiprusoff has stopped 78 of 82 shots in the first two games, a sparkling .951 save percentage.

SHARKS -- C Joe Pavelski has a goal, an assist and fired 13 shots on goal for the Sharks.

WHO'S NOT

FLAMES -- LW Kristian Huselius is running the risk of returning to the coach's dog house with no points and a minus rating so far.

SHARKS -- LW Milan Michalek, who led the team in goals against the Flames in the regular season, has only one assist so far in this series. Michalek had three goals and four points in three meetings against the Flames in the regular season.

SPECIAL TEAMS

POWERPLAY -- Calgary 14.3% (1-7, 7th); San Jose 8.3% (1-12, 10th).

PENALTY KILLING -- Calgary 91.7% (7th); San Jose 85.7% (10th).

INJURIES

FLAMES -- D Rhett Warrener (ankle) is close to being 100%. C/LW Mark Smith (head/neck) is out.

SHARKS -- D Christian Ehrhoff (undisclosed) remains day-to-day.

NOTABLES

It's probably a bit of a misdirection, but in practice today, the Flames skated Craig Conroy at centre with Jarome Iginla and Alex Tanguay ... Owen Nolan didn't skate ... Conroy took the visor off his helmet. He's worn one most of the season ... Refs for tonight's game will be Dan O'Halloran and Eric Furlatt ... Although the Flames have historically fared well in the playoffs against the Sharks in San Jose, life hasn't been good at home over the years. Calgary has won only two of six playoff tilts at the 'Dome vs. the Sharks.
