Goaltender Brent Krahn has been recalled by the Calgary Flames, who need an emergency third-stringer in case of an injury or illness to either Miikka Kiprusoff or Roman Turek.

"He's en route," said Flames GM/head coach Darryl Sutter of the Manitoba native.

"He was in San Antonio and we sent him back to Las Vegas to pick up his vehicle."

Krahn, the former Calgary Hitmen star, is expected here for today's practice. His season ended Sunday when the San Antonio Rampage failed to make the AHL playoffs.

He was on loan by the Flames to the Florida Panthers affiliate and posted a 3-7-1 record, a 3.44 goals-against average and an .884 save percentage in 14 games with the Rampage.

Krahn began the season with the ECHL's Las Vegas Wranglers.
