No Saturday game for CBC

Saturday nights could be dark for Hockey Night In Canada in the second round of the playoffs, a rare occurrence with three Canadian teams still involved.

The Philadelphia Flyers have a conflict with an Arena Football League game and a concert this Saturday, which will force Game 2 to be put off a day until Sunday.

Game 2 of the Calgary Flames at Detroit Red Wings is at 3 p.m. Saturday for ABC scheduling purposes and Saturday is an off-day for the Montreal Canadiens at Tampa Bay Lightning.

But with almost four million viewers watching Game 6 of Toronto-Ottawa on Sunday, the CBC isn't worried about losing its traditional audience. That was its biggest viewership for a first-round playoff game in more than a decade.

If there is a fifth game required in the Lightning-Habs series, it could be moved up to 3 p.m. if Tampa is the lone American team available that day.
