Robyn Regehr went into last night's Game 3 without protective equipment for his sore jaw.

The Flames d-man needed stitches on his chin and inside his mouth to close a cut suffered in Game 2 when he deflected Patrick Marleau's shot up to his own face.

"It's a little sore," Regehr said. "But usually it is a little sore when you get hit with a frozen piece of rubber."

D-MAN BACK: Kyle McLaren returned to the San Jose Sharks blueline for Game 3 after sitting out Game 2 with an undisclosed upper-body injury.

"I don't think we missed him as much as people want to say (for Game 2)," said San Jose coach Ron Wilson of McLaren's absence. "But having him in the lineup is obviously a huge plus. He's an all-star quality defenceman who punishes people when they come into the zone. He does a great job clearing the net and he has some pretty good offensive instincts, too. Basically, he's one of the whole packages."
