Game Over

SCOTT FISHER -- Calgary Sun

, Last Updated: 10:47 AM ET

 SUN THREE STARS:

 1. BRAD RICHARDS, Lightning. Mr. Clutch comes through again.

 2. NIKOLAI KHABIBULIN, Lightning. Looked shaky but in the end was perfect.

 3. MIIKKA KIPRUSOFF, Flames. Made some big stops to keep Calgary within striking distance.

 TURNING POINT:

On a 5-on-3 powerplay less than two minutes in, the Lightning capitalized on Brad Richards' NHL-record seventh game-winning goal of the post-season.

 SAVE OF THE GAME:

Marcus Nilson floated a shorthanded saucer pass through two defenders right on the stick of Ville Nieminen. The pesky Finn lost the handle as he attempted a deke on Nikolai Khabibulin but the Tampa 'tender puts the left pad down.

 HIT OF THE GAME:

Flames enforcer Krzysztof Oliwa planted Tampa winger Dimitry Afanasenkov into the boards just inside the Lightning blueline midway through the opening period.

 UNSUNG HERO:

Chris Clark was a buzz saw, cutting down Tampa d-men and running into G Nikolai Khabibulin. He used his great speed to nearly set up Stephane Yelle for a shorthanded goal in the second.

 SCRATCHES:

*FLAMES -- D Toni Lydman (concussion), C Matthew Lombardi (concussion) and LW Lynn Loyns (ankle) are day-to-day. D Denis Gauthier (knee), C Steve Reinprecht (shoulder) and C Dean McAmmond (back) are out for the season. Healthy scratches included LW Dave Lowry, D Brennan Evans, LW Martin Sonnenberg and G Brent Krahn.

*LIGHTNING -- RW Ruslan Fedotenko (face) and D Pavel Kubina (undisclosed) were out of the lineup. D Stan Neckar, C Eric Perrin and D Darren Rumble were healthy scratches.

 WHAT IT MEANS:

For the fourth straight series, the Flames hit the road to begin a best-of-three.

 NOTEWORTHY:

Flames LW Oleg Saprykin has a ritual of trying to shoot the puck the length of the ice into the opposition's net prior to skating off the ice after the pre-game warm-up. Tampa LW Chris Dingman attempted to make the save before Game 3 but failed. Last night, the Lightning player turned the net around and pushed it against the boards. Saprykin fired away anyways, hitting the back of the net and drawing cheers from the crowd ... Flames C Stephane Yelle entered last night's game as the club's top faceoff man with a 53.9% success rate ... Jarome Iginla led all playoff players in shots on goal after the third game of the final with 81. Tampa's Brad Richards was next at 72.

SERIES TIED 2-2. GAME 5 THURSDAY IN TAMPA, 6 P.M., TV: CBC, RADIO: FAN 960
