Dan Bylsma's tenure as head coach of the Pittsburgh Penguins will continue.

Wednesday, the club announced Bylsma, 42, has signed a two-year contract extension.

"When I came here seven years ago one of the things I wanted to establish was tradition of being a playoff team year in and year out," Penguins general manager Ray Shero said.

"I think we've been able to establish something special here. I believe we have a great coach in Dan Bylsma. I believe he is our coach moving forward."

Bylsma, who stepped behind the team's bench in 2009, is the fastest NHL coach to reach 200 wins. He is a Stanley Cup champion (2009) and Jack Adams award winner (2011).

Two assistants, Tony Granato and Todd Reirden, were also signed to extensions, while goalie coach Gilles Meloche, meanwhile, has resigned.
