The Pittsburgh Penguins signed free-agent forward Steve MacIntyre to a one-year contract on Tuesday.

MacIntyre, 30, spent the 2010-11 season with the Edmonton Oilers, where he collected one assist and 93 penalty minutes in 34 games. He made his NHL debut with the Oilers in 2008-09, recording a pair of goals and 40 penalty minutes in 22 games.

In parts of three seasons with Edmonton and the Florida Panthers, MacIntyre has played in 78 games with a pair of goals and four points.

MacIntyre was originally signed by the New York Rangers as an undrafted free agent in 2003.
