Yeo released from hospital

PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh Penguins assistant coach Mike Yeo is out of an undisclosed Florida hospital and expects to return to Pittsburgh today.

The Penguins say Yeo, a 36-year-old North Bay, Ont., native, was released Tuesday after undergoing tests. He became ill following Pittsburgh's game at Tampa Bay Saturday and was attended to by paramedics in the coaches' room.

Yeo was evaluated by doctors Saturday night and cleared to fly with the team to Fort Lauderdale, but was hospitalized Sunday before the Penguins played at Florida.

Penguins coach Dan Bylsma told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review that Yeo was sent to hospital as a precaution, and later passed standard tests from physicians.

Yeo wanted to return to the bench against Florida, but Bylsma denied the request.

"It's not just about winning the hockey game; there are other things to worry about," Bylsma told the Tribune-Review.

The team has not released any information about Yeo's ailment.
