GLENDALE, ARIZ. - The Phoenix Coyotes signed forward Paul Bissonnette to a two-year contract extension Wednesday.

"We are very pleased to sign Paul to a multi-year extension," Coyotes general manager Don Maloney said. "He plays an important role on our team and we are looking for him to take his game to the next level this season."

Last season, Bissonnette played in 48 regular season games for Phoenix, posting one goal and a team-high 71 penalty minutes.

In 104 career regular season games with the Coyotes and Pittsburgh Penguins, the 26-year-old has registered four goals, seven points and 210 penalty minutes.
