Coyotes sign McElhinney

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- The Phoenix Coyotes signed goaltender Curtis McElhinney and defenseman Tyler Eckford to one-year, two-way contracts on Monday.

The 28-year-old McElhinney split the 2010-11 season between the Anaheim Ducks and Ottawa Senators, going 9-13-1 in 28 games.

The London, Ont., native has compiled an 18-26-4 record and a 3.13 goals-against average in 67 career games with Calgary, Anaheim and Ottawa.

Eckford, 25, played seven total games for the New Jersey Devils in the past two seasons and posted one assist.
