Coyotes lock up Vrbata with multi-year deal

The Phoenix Coyotes re-signed forward Radim Vrbata to a multi-year contract on Saturday.

Vrbata posted 19 goals and added 29 assists in 79 games during the 2010-11 campaign, finishing fourth on the Coyotes in scoring. He added two goals and three assists in the first round of the playoffs, a sweep at the hands of the Detroit Red Wings.

"We are very pleased to re-sign Radim to a multi-year contract," said Coyotes general manager Don Maloney. "Radim is an important player for us and fits in well with our group. He will be counted on to contribute offensively for us."

Over his nine-year career, the 30-year-old Czech has compiled 148 goals and 175 assists over 601 games with the Coyotes, Tampa Bay Lightning, Chicago Blackhawks, Carolina Hurricanes and Colorado Avalanche.

Additionally on Saturday, the Coyotes inked unrestricted free agent center Alex Bolduc to a one-year contract. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Bolduc appeared in 24 contests with the Vancouver in 2010-11, tallying two goals and two assists. In parts of three season with the Canucks, the 26-year- old has recorded two goals and five points in 46 career games.
