Philadelphia Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren was listed in stable condition at a Camden, NJ hospital after sustaining injuries in a bicycle accident over the holiday weekend, according to a published report.

The Philadelphia Daily News reported on its website that the 55-year-old Holmgren was admitted to Cooper Medical Center with multiple fractures and cuts that required stitches. The article said Holmgren was injured while exercising in Avalon, NJ, but that he was reportedly wearing a helmet.

"Heard about Holmer earlier today, was waiting to comment on it until the media found out...hope he's doing alright...scary, scary situation," Flyers defenseman Matt Carle said via Twitter.

Holmgren is due to start his sixth season as GM of the team. He signed a three-year contract extension in January.
