Philadelphia - The Philadelphia Flyers announced on Thursday that enforcer Jody Shelley had surgery on the orbital bone around his left eye.
Shelley was injured when a puck struck him during practice on Monday.
"Jody's surgery went well," said Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren. "He will be able to practice in about one week and return to play in 3-4 weeks."
The 35-year-old has two goals and two assists with 127 penalty minutes in 58 games this season, his first with Philadelphia after signing a three-year contract last July.
