TORONTO -- Philadelphia Flyers forward Jody Shelley has been suspended two games for the second time this month.

This time, Shelley received a two-game ban for a post-whistle altercation with Vancouver's Andrew Alberts. Shelley was given a match penalty for punching the defenceman with 7:31 left in the third period of Tuesday's 6-2 loss to the Canucks.

He will miss Thursday's game at Los Angeles and Friday's contest in Anaheim.

Shelley had been disciplined for his hit from behind on Boston defenceman Adam McQuaid on Dec. 11.
