PHILADELPHIA -- Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Chris Pronger is expected to be sidelined 4-to-6 weeks because of a broken foot.

Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren said Pronger will undergo surgery to repair a broken first metatarsal in his right foot. The six-time All-Star was hurt during Wednesday's victory over Montreal.

Pronger leads all Philadelphia defensemen with four goals and has added 11 assists for 15 points in 31 games. He is also a plus-six for the NHL's top team. The Flyers have a league-best 47 points and have won four straight games heading into Saturday's tilt with the New York Rangers.

Holmgren also said defenseman Matt Walker underwent hip surgery on Thursday. He is expected to be sidelined for 6-to-8 weeks.
