Bieber fever has hit the Flyers, much to the ire of many Philadelphia sports fans.
A photo of the teen pop star holding a personalized Flyers jersey with the number 1, wearing a New York Yankees baseball cap and standing next to Phillyís Scott Hartnell and Kimmo Timonen surfaced on the fan site Broad Street Hockey.
Bieber is currently on a world tour. The Wells Fargo Center is one of his stops, so the presence of Hartnell and Timonen, awkward as it may seem, isnít surprising.
Whatís really grinding fansí gears are the other two aspects of the image.
The number 1 belonged to none other than legendary Flyers puckstopper Bernie Parent. To see it in the hands of Bieber, a notorious Maple Leafs fan, is more than a little off-putting for Flyers fanatics.
As for the Yankees hat, itís obvious Bieber doesnít follow baseball. After the Yanks defeated the Phillies in the 2009 World Series, only the bold would dare sport such attire in tough-as-nails Philadelphia.
Luckily for teen girls everywhere, Bieber made it out of the city alive.
