According to a report in the Philadelphia Inquirer, Flyers centre Jeremy Roenick insists that he suffered the 10th concussion of his career in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference final on May 15 and should be paid his $7.5 million US salary for this season. Under the terms of the expired collective bargaining agreement, all injured players from last season must be paid --even during a lockout.

Roenick did play in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference final, although he did complain to reporters that he had concussion symptoms between games.

The Flyers, however, say Roenick passed his "exit" physical at the end of the season. All players are examined by the primary-care doctor and an orthopedist before signing off on the report. Gary Dorshimer is the primary-care doctor for the Flyers.

"I told them I didn't feel right, I had headaches. They knew I had a concussion," Roenick told the Inquirer. "Because of patient confidentiality, Dorshimer was not permitted to comment (Tuesday)."
