OTTAWA - Craig Anderson left the Sunshine State behind to make the trek to the place he could call home the rest of his NHL career.

After signing a three-year, $12.6 million extension that locks him up through 2017-18 last month, Anderson jumped in his vehicle at his Coral Springs, Fla. home and made a leisurely four-day drive to Ottawa.

Back on the ice with many of his teammates Thursday at the Bell Sensplex for the first time since agreeing to the extension, Anderson, 33, couldn't be more thrilled to have the deal in place.

While he was heading into the final of his contract, Anderson now has the security of the deal and if all goes well there's a good chance he'll finish his career with the Senators down the road.

"I would say I'm ecstatic," said Anderson, who did some extra work beforehand with Robin Lehner and minor-league goalie Andrew Hammond.
