Mike Hoffman was smiling and looked relaxed as he spent Wednesday as a guest at the Senators' Summer Hockey Camp at the Bell Sensplex.

The hard work really begins in September for the Senators' left winger.

While Hoffman came to camp last year with expectations of making the club's roster, it didn't pan out in the end, but this time around he'll make a case to be a full-time player in Ottawa.

Though some players have headed for greener pastures this summer, the 24-year-old Hoffman rebuffed opportunities to go to Europe and focused on being on the roster on Opening Night.

"This is what I wanted," said Hoffman during a break from signing autographs and posing for pictures. "I don't want to go anywhere else like Europe.

"I'm still young and I want to play in the NHL and here for Ottawa. At this point in my career, I'm not really thinking about going anywhere else."
