OTTAWA - Alex Chiasson had just finished a workout in Quebec City Tuesday when he got word he'd been dealt to the Senators by the Dallas Stars.

Then, the skilled winger sought advice from former Senators' centre Antoine Vermette, who is a partner in Chiasson's summer training program.

"I talked to him a little bit (Wednesday) morning about his experience and he only had good things to say about the organization, the city and the people," said Chiasson in a conference call.

"I'm really looking forward to this new experience. For sure, this summer, it is up to me to put the work in the gym and on the ice. It will be my job to be ready from Day 1 of camp."

Chiasson, 24, who is 6-foot-4 and a graduate of Boston University, finished with 13 goals, 22 assists and 35 points last season in his first full season in the NHL with the Stars.
