OTTAWA - Jason Spezza is still with the Senators, for now.

The Senators will have a better idea later Wednesday what kind of market there is for the unhappy captain but GM Bryan Murray needs the dust to settle on free agency before that happens.

The St. Louis Blues and Dallas Stars remain very much interested in Spezza after he nixed a deal that would have sent him to the Nashville Predators during the draft festivities in Philadelphia.

While Nashville GM David Poile spent the weekend trying to throw cold water on how close the deal actually was, it's believed the Senators were targeting a good, young player in return along with a first-round pick Friday.

The talk amongst league executives is the fit for the Senators in exchange for Spezza may have been 24-year-old centre Colin Wilson. He finished with 11-22-33 points in 81 games last season and has plenty of upside potential.
