Before they head to the beach for the Olympic break, the Senators got sunburned in Beantown.

The red light was going on all afternoon.

Trying to get back into a wildcard spot in their final game Saturday before the 17-day shutdown, the Senators took one on the chin from the Boston Bruins in an 7-2 beating at TD Garden.

With only two players - Erik Karlsson and Milan Michalek - heading to Sochi, the Senators started their holiday early by not putting up much of a fight.

Only Bobby Ryan and Patrick Wiercioch were able to beat Boston goalie Chad Johnson on the 27 lousy shots he faced. Patrice Bergeron had two while Jarome Iginla, Milan Lucic and Chris Kelly sent Craig Anderson packing.
