COLUMBUS - Stephane Da Costa delivered his request to remain in the NHL Tuesday night.

It was in writing. On the scoresheet.

Playing in what could very well have been his last game before another demotion back to Binghamton, Da Costa scored Ottawa’s first two goals in a 3-2 victory over the Blue Jackets at Nationwide Arena.

The hero of the night, however, was Jason Spezza, who scored on the power play with 4:58 left in the third to break a tie game and move the Senators even with the Blue Jackets in the standings, two points behind the last wildcard spot owning Philadelphia Flyers.

Craig Anderson also played a starring role, stopping 34 Blue Jackets shots.
