ST. PAUL, MINN. - The Senators formally announced the expected contact extension and promotions within their managerial staff, then expressed a desire to add at least one more piece of the puzzle they think will make them a contender.

That piece being a forward, either of the scoring or physical variety.

As previously reported by the Sun, Brian Murray will be the GM and President of Hockey Operations through 2016, then remain with the team in an advisory capacity for two seasons after that. In other moves, player personnel director Pierre Dorion and director of player development and hockey administration Randy Lee will also become co-assistant GMs.

Lee also takes over Tim Murray’s title as GM of the Binghamton Senators. Tim Murray was named last week as the GM of the Buffalo Sabres.
