RALEIGH, N.C. - Craig Anderson was forced to play the role of spectator Sunday night at the PNC Arena.

Paul MacLean reinforced Anderson is the No. 1 goalie before backup Robin Lehner started against the Carolina Hurricanes, but the club deviated from its plan to 'alternate' the two goalies this weekend.

The plan changed after Lehner made 34 stops in a 4-2 victory over the Detroit Red Wings Saturday night. Anderson, who is winless in his last eight starts, sat for the second straight game because there was no sense in making a change.
