Nearly a month into the season, the Senators are still trying to find themselves.
And, so far, the search has been a huge failure.
The Senators took another right to the chin Sunday night at the Canadian Tire Centre, this one from the powerful San Jose Sharks in a ugly 5-2 loss in front 17,145 who couldn't wait to scatter for the exits before the final buzzer.
The script was similar to one the Senators have written many nights: Fall behind early, mount a charge to comeback and fall short. Only defencemen Marc Methot and Erik Karlsson were able to beat San Jose's Alex Stalock in his first NHL start.
The club's third straight loss on home ice - after spotting the Sharks an early 2-0 lead Ñ sent coach Paul MacLean back to the drawing board.
