GLENDALE, ARIZ. - A tip of the cap to Jason Spezza.

He was sizzling in the desert Tuesday night.

The Senators centre completed his fifth career hat-trick to help Ottawa come back from a 2-0 deficit and halt a four-game winless streak with a dramatic 4-3 OT victory over the Phoenix Coyotes.

It took a little extra work, but Cory Conacher scored at 2:48 of the extra period to beat Mike Smith and help the Senators salvage this trip with a 2-2-2 record. The club will return home with six of a possible 12 points.

Goaltender Craig Anderson made 34 stops, but the Senators would have never gotten this win if it wasn’t for the heroics of the captain. Spezza's last hat-trick was Feb. 14, 2012 in Tampa Bay.

Mike Ribiero, Radim Vrbata and Rob Klinkhammer scored for the Coyotes.
