OTTAWA - Ten days into chemistry class, Jason Spezza, Milan Michalek and new student Bobby Ryan are about to be summoned to the principal's office for a little chat.

With only four pre-season games left and camp about to enter the short strokes, coach Paul MacLean told the Sun Saturday it's time for him to sit down with the club's top trio to make sure everybody is on the same page.

For the most part, he's been happy with the way Spezza, Ryan and Michalek have performed through the early part of camp, but he'd like potential to meet production before the season starts Oct. 4 against the Buffalo Sabres.

The message he'll deliver during this sitdown session with the boys will be pretty basic.
