OTTAWA - The Senators' players had their chance to speak Monday.

Next up will be GM Bryan Murray and coach Paul MacLean Tuesday and then the focus will be officially on next year.

The Senators have decisions to make over the course of the next couple of months on where this organization is headed after a promising trip to Round 2 this spring, but many feel the core of young players will be kept together.

Like last year, that might be enough to entice Daniel Alfredsson to stay. He came back after the Senators were eliminated in the first round last spring because he felt there was more work to be done.

Alfredsson doesn't feel any different this spring.

"It's an exciting time for this organization with all the prospects we have," said Alfredsson. "It was a tough year with all the injuries, but it also showed the depth we're creating in the organization and that's great to see.

"That's great for this organization going forward."
