OTTAWA - The regular season is going to end one day later than expected for the Senators.
The NHL announced Tuesday that Monday's postponed game in Boston against the Bruins will now be played Sunday, April 28 at 7 p.m.
The game, called off after Monday's tragic bombings at the Boston Marathon, will be the only NHL contest played on April 28. The Senators were supposed to end the season with a game against the Philadelphia Flyers April 27 at Scotiabank Place.
But with the TD Garden busy and so few off days before the end of the season, the NHL decided April 28 made the most sense as a remake date.
The decision means the Senators and Bruins both will wrap up the season with three games in four days.
