PHILADELPHIA - There would be no on-ice practice for the Senators Wednesday in the City of Brotherly Love.

They worked out in the gym at their hotel, went out to enjoy the 30 C temperatures -- and tried not to spend much time thinking about the Eastern Conference standings and the sudden pressure they're under.

Pressure which didn't exist after they were bowled over by injuries that appeared to cripple their playoff chances.

A five-game losing streak that has left them just two points up on the ninth-place Winnipeg Jets has changed all that.

"Expectations weren't high from the outside, but from the inside they were high," captain Daniel Alfredsson said in a lower lobby at the Four Seasons Hotel. "Now from the outside, expectations have gotten bigger because we are in the position we are.
