The Zamboni was only half finished its job when Craig Anderson stepped on the ice some and did some laps as the first player out for Friday's morning skate.

About 45 minutes later, the Senators goalie would also be among the last to leave, which meant Robin Lehner would be getting the start in goal Friday night against the Buffalo Sabres.

Anderson, who has the NHL's best goals-against average and save percentage, did dress for the first time in 18 games, but only as a backup. The decision to keep him on the bench was made by coach Paul MacLean, and Anderson said he was not disappointed.
