BUFFALO - Seventeen years after Daniel Alfredsson became the only Senator to win the Calder Trophy, he now has five teammates who deserve at least some consideration as the NHL's top rookie in 2013.

Three of them are on one line.

While Patrick Wiercioch is the second highest scoring first-year defenceman and Robin Lehner is only a few appearances shy of being the top rookie goalie, Cory 'Little Train' Conacher, Mika Zibanejad and Jakob Silfverberg are Nos. 2, 8 and 11 in freshmen scoring with a quarter of the season remaining.
