OTTAWA - Daniel Alfredsson won't have to face this much-discussed dilemma at the trade deadline.
If the Senators weren't in the playoff picture with the deadline set for Wednesday at 3 p.m., it might be different for the 40-year-old Alfredsson. But with 13 games left on the schedule, the club is solidly entrenched in a post-season position.
Sitting at No. 5 in the East -- nine points ahead of eighth-place N.Y. Rangers -- the Senators won't entertain the thought of dealing the NHL's longest-serving captain, and he won't have to toy with the thought of going elsewhere.
