Twas' a perfect a night to fight for Matt Kassian
By DON BRENNAN, QMI Agency

The improving Senators power play was looking forward to being tested against the league's top penalty killers Thursday at Scotiabank Place.

But neither referee called a penalty until the streaking Sergei Gonchar was accused of taking down Boston Bruins defenceman Zdeno Chara 31 minutes and two seconds into what was supposed to be a hard-fought and nasty divisional game.

The Senators, meanwhile, entered the evening having scored on five of their last 13 man-advantage chances, and it's no fluke that the "PPs" reversal of form coincides with Guillaume Latendresse's return to the lineup six games ago.

Would Patrick Roy make a good coach for the Colorado Avalanche?
  Yes, he's perfect
  No, he's not ready
  Bring him to Montreal!
