MONTREAL — There was no sign of Milan Michalek on the ice Tuesday at Scotiabank Place.

He'll miss his second straight game here Wednesday.

The Senators winger is trying to avoid surgery for a nagging knee injury that forced him to miss 10 games earlier this season and will keep him out of the lineup against the Montreal Canadiens at the Bell Centre to start this two-game road trip.

"There's no change. We don't anticipate he'll play (vs. Montreal)," said coach Paul MacLean. "It's a day-to-day thing. We'll see how he feels. Right now, he's out for (Wednesday)."

MacLean indicated sooner or later a decision will have to be made on what the best course of action is for Michalek to take if he continues to be hampered by the injury.

"It's not my injury. It's a maintenance thing day by day," said MacLean. "At some point in time, I'm not sure if they will (do surgery) or not (or whether that will be) at the end of the season. It all depends on how it goes."
