Boston would love Daniel Alfredsson on their team

Imagine if the Senators had stumbled rather than soared after Erik Karlsson was injured?

Imagine if they had lost five in a row rather than won five straight going into Thursday's meeting with the Bruins?

The Boston media would have been all over Daniel Alfredsson like ... well, like they were at the morning skate. Wait, didn't they get the memo?

Thing is, there's no story here. Not right now, at least. If Alfredsson does get traded, and that's a sizable if, it's certainly not going to happen as long as the Senators remain in the playoff mix.

Of course, that didn't stop reporters from asking Bruins if the 40-year-old winger would be a good fit in their room.

"Oh yeah ... definitely," said Milan Lucic. "(Alfredsson) has a lot of playoff experience. If we could get him, that would a huge addition to our hockey club and group of forwards."

The Vancouver Canucks should replace ex-coach Alain Vigneault with...
  Guy Boucher.
  Lindy Ruff.
  Andy Murray.
  Jacques Martin.
  Brent Sutter.
  Don Hay.
  Other.
