Senators beat Rangers, lose Craig Anderson to ankle injury

OTTAWA - The Senators have lost their saviour.

The Senators may have won the battle thanks to Kaspars Daugavins' shootout winner in a 3-2 victory over the New York Rangers Thursday, but a crowd of 19,076 sat in silence as goalie Craig Anderson had to be helped off the ice earlier.

He has a sprained right ankle and is listed as day-to-day, but two league executives told the Sun it depends on the severity of the sprain and where it is on the ankle. The estimate on a normal ankle sprain is the 2-to-4 week range.
