Our 'Doc' wonders whether Spezza should have played in Switzerland during NHL lockout
Introducing Marc's Methots ... Latendresse latest Sen to battle flu

RALEIGH - Now I'm no "Doc", despite what the misspelled credentials hanging around my neck here at the PNC Arena say, but I am of the opinion that a guy with a history of back issues shouldn't have been playing in Switzerland during the lockout.

Especially when he doesn't need the money and, after insurance costs, he wasn't making much, if anything at all, anyway.

Did his 28 games with Rapperswil-Jona in any way lead to the back surgery Jason Spezza had Friday in Toronto? Maybe not. Then again, maybe. I don't know. I'm no doctor. But I can't imagine the Swiss experience helped Spezza's back.

Do you think the officiating has been fair in the Kings-Sharks series?
  Yes
  No
No ... but the refs seem to be evening it out themselves
